… whether they be local, state, or federal, this is the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States, quoted from the White House website, you know, the one with Trump and Pence on the front page.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances (italics added).”
You will note, North Dakota, that nowhere does this mention running down protesters “accidentally.” Just thought I would post this as a reminder, since some people in North Dakota, and elsewhere, seem to think that we have to abridge our most important right, because protesters might say things we don’t want to here.
The movement to abridge this most fundamental of rights is the most Un-American activity there is. This movement is not patriotism, it is antithetical to what we, as Americans, have always believed, and held dear: it is, in fact, fascism. There is no place for both the Nazi salute and the Pledge of Allegiance in America. My father’s generation gave their lives fighting to free the world from this: you will not bring it here voluntarily.
