Even as Republicans celebrate the hacking of a presidential election by Russian actors (aided by Julian Assange), we, the American voters who voted against this man and his hollow promises to “Make America Great Again,” must ready ourselves. We can undo this in 2018, but it will take action on the local level to do it. I’m talking, of course, about the mid-term elections in the House and Senate. It will take effort on our part: getting out to vote, making certain others understand why they need to do this, and making certain that all those the Republicans try to thwart from voting are able to do so if they wish. When the time comes, we need to remove the Republican control of the House and Senate, and never return it to them. They don’t represent us, or our interests, they have made that clear in this mangled election. They represent the interests of the favored few, as Trump’s cabinet reflects. Remember, to paraphrase Frank Castle, the Punisher, this isn’t about Justice, it’s about Punishment. A crime has been committed, it’s up to us, the American People, to exact punishment, because criminals never punish themselves.
